How to replace the cabin filter in a 2010-2014 VW Golf/GTI

The cabin filter in your car cleans the air that comes into the interior through the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system. If it’s dirty, dust, pollen and other airborne material can make riding in your car unpleasant, especially if you have allergies or other respiratory problems.

Recommendations on when it should be replaced vary by manufacturer — Volkswagen recommends replacing it every 20,000 miles or 2 years — however it may need to be changed earlier depending on how much you drive and where.

Driving Impressions: Michelin Pilot Super Sport

With spring now in full effect across southern Ontario, I decided to take my 2010 Volkswagen GTI to the tire shop and replace the factory all-season Pirelli rubber with a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport max performance summer tires.

If you’re not familiar with the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, they come as original equipment on several sports cars and high performance vehicles such as the BMW M3 and Tesla Model S P85D.

Volkswagen debuts seventh generation Golf to North America

The seventh generation of the VW Golf made it’s first appearance in North America this week at the 2013 New York Auto Show. Despite being 2.2 inches longer and 0.5 inches wider, the new hatchback sheds 51 pounds through the use of high and ultra high strength steels.
