It’s time to start thinking about winter tires

It’s that time of year again. The leaves are falling, the temperatures are dropping and snow is either here or on its way depending on where you live. And that means you should think about putting a set of winter tires on your car.

While some of us may think we can get around fine with “all season” tires, it’s like the equivalent of wearing Air Force 1’s in the winter – it might work for a while, but you’re bound to fall flat on your ass sooner or later.

Public Transit: Smarter, but not faster

In Canada, using public transportation helps you save money, reduce pollution, and lessen congestion.  But while it may be the most sensible way to travel, it’s certainly not the fastest.

According to the latest data from Statistics Canada, commuters who traveled using public transit took longer to get to work on average compared to those who drove in a car.

Canadian Goverment Ready to Unload GM Stake

According to a report from Bloomberg, the Canadian Government is planning to sell its stake in General Motors and has already begun to search for investment banks who may be interested. The news doesn’t exactly come as a surprise, since Finance Minister Jim Flaherty announced back in December that Canada wanted to eventually sell its shares of GM stock.
